Golden Globes

Tonight the Hollywood Foreign Press distributed their annual awards for film and television with the 66th Annual Golden Globes from Hollywood, California.

Slumdog Millionaire won big taking home four awards, including the coveted Best Picture - Drama. Director Danny Boyle also took home the Best Director Award for his work on the film. (Go see this movie immediately it overwhelmingly lives up to the hype it is receiving.....and look out for it come Oscar time!!)

TV mini-series "John Adams" also had an exciting night winning three awards, including acting awards for stars Laura Linney and Paul Giamatti.
But Kate Winslet was the real story of the night, suprisingly winning two Golden Globes: as Suporting Actress for her performance in The Reader and as Lead Actress for her performance in Revolutionary Road.

And now in an effort to prove to myself that my opinion matters, here is a list of my personal awards for the night:

Hottest Hottie:
Olivia Wilde
Olivia is hot in just about everything she stars in, from her turn as Marissa's lesbian lover on The OC to her bad ass girlfriend to Emile Hirsch in Alpha dog, but she especially looked amazing at the Golden Globes. In a light purple dress that showed off her awesome body, but also left a lot to the imagination as well, she heated up the red carpet (and myself I might add!) the most.

Funniest Acceptance Speech:
Tina Fey
Although her costars Alec Baldwin and Tracy Morgan gave her a run for her money, Tina Fey proved again that she is the funniest person when it comes to giving acceptance speeches. Everyone wonders whether stars take the time to read the nasty comments bloggers make about them on the Internet; Tina Fey showed that while they may read them, they certainly don't take their comments to heart by telling all her haters (specific blog posters noted) to "suck it."

FUGliest Outfit:
Glenn Close
She may be one hell of an actress, but Glenn close showed tonight that talent and style don't necessarily go hand in hand. In an odd pants and long shirt (?) combo that made her look older and creepier than ever Close gave a classic display of what it means to be a fashion disaster.

Best Zingers:
Sacha Baron Cohen
Everyone knows Cohen can tell a joke, but no one expected the harsh jibes that came from him as he presented tonight at the Golden Globes. Sure the comments were hilarious, but it was clear to see that the stars in attendance were unsure whether or not they were allowed to laugh at the digs at Madonna, Guy Ritchie, and Charlie Sheen.

Most Unintentionally Funny Moment:
J. Lo
You know it must be pretty annoying when you are trying to present an award and it feels like no one is paying attention to you. Which is why Jennifer Lopez took it upon herself to bring all eyes back on her....despite being in the middle of her presenting speech. Telling the crowd to "be quiet...mama's talking" J. Lo showed she has no problem asserting herself as the center of attention.
